The Competency Based Curriculum brought Grade 7 into primary schools that had no room for it. Critics said the classrooms could not be built in time.
More than 23,000 classrooms were constructed across the country, with an initial 16,000 delivered ahead of the first JSS cohort and construction continuing through subsequent years.
The projects were delivered constituency by constituency through the NG-CDF, which meant local contractors, local fundis and local materials — the money circulated in the same communities whose children now use the classrooms.
